Welcome to the OATH Hearings Division

OATH is the City's central independent administrative law court; it is not part of the state court system. The OATH Hearings Division is the division of OATH that is responsible for holding hearings on summonses issued by a variety of agencies. Below is a video that explains who is responsible for a summons and the different ways someone can respond to a summons that is filed at OATH.

OATH holds hearings on summonses that are issued by the following enforcement agencies. If you have questions or concerns about why you were issued a summons by one of these agencies you can contact the agency that issued you the summons or ask for help from OATH’s Help Center.

NYC Department of Sanitation
NYC Department of Buildings
NYC Fire Department

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
NYC Department of Consumer Affairs

NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission

NYC Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT)
